What’s Next in Space?

November 21-23, 2008
“A Call for Leadership on Space“, the report published in February 2008 by the Rideau Institute on International Affairs reads: “The space sector in Canada is in a state of crisis. Canada’s world reputation and international influence in space activities are diminishing at an alarming rate”. While an increasing number of countries are investing in space exploration because they view space as a strategic tool for achieving national priorities, Canada’s investment has decreased, along with our understanding of how to use space as a tool to serve Canada’s own public policy objectives and the needs of Canadians.”
The 2008 Space Summit theme, “What’s Next for the Canadian Space Industry?” will emphasize the many short and long term issues, requirements and goals of the various constituencies that together make up the Canadian space industry plus provide insight into the roles played by individuals, business leaders, public organizations and academic experts as they compete to define the issues the industry must address to move forward.
The 2008 Canadian Space Summit is a must attend event for:
- Space advocates and enthusiasts who believe in exploring space solutions to solve terrestrial problems and who want to network with their peers.
- Aerospace executives and independent consultants focused on enhancing the global competitiveness of Canadian industries.
- Professors and students at Canadian educational institutions focused on basic research in space or aerospace related areas.
- Venture capitalists, SR&ED credit financing firms and other organizations seeking an introduction to innovative programs and projects being undertaken right now in Canadian facilities by Canadian scientists and engineers.
